Lavender Goat Milk Soap

Our lavender farm has recently become a little bigger.  We now have goats (Alpine to be exact).  These cute creatures produce some of the best goat milk.  Milk loaded with essential nutrients and vitamins like vitamin C, B1, B6, B12, and E.  And since we are constantly looking for ways to make our products better, this new addition is one that you will love.

Goat's milk has many health benefits when ingested, but did you know the benefits goat milk has on your skin?  Here are some that I feel are important to have in a soap.

Goat Milk Benefits for your skin

Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids which helps to break down the glue that holds dead skin cells together, leaving new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger looking.  In addition, removing dead skin cells will help many skin conditions by removing the irritation.

Cream. The cream that is present in goat milk helps boost the moisturizing quality of soaps. Since many people suffer from dry skin, particularly in the winter months, this is an important benefit.  The famous Cleopatra, known for her beauty, was said to have bathed in goat’s milk.

Vitamins. Goat milk is high in Vitamin A, which repairs damaged skin tissue, and maintains healthy skin. There have been several medical studies showing that creams made with Vitamin A reduce lines and wrinkles, control acne, and provide some psoriasis relief. Also loaded with essential nutrients and vitamins like vitamin C, B1, B6, B12, and E, goat milk is amazing for your skin.

Minerals. Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin such as selenium. Selenium is believed  to have an important role in preventing skin cancer. Selenium can also help prevent damage to the skin from excessive time in the sun.

Antiseptic and Disinfectant.  Even before World War I, lavender has been used to treat and disinfect wounds. Hospitals use lavender oil as an antiseptic and disinfectant to sterilize surfaces and equipment.  When applied to cuts, scrapes and burns, lavender's antiseptic properties do a great job of keeping things clean.

Anti-fungal.  Lavender could be used to combat the increasing incidents of antifungal-resistant infections, according to a study published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology. Lavender essential oil shows a potent anti-fungal effect against strains of fungi responsible for common skin and nail infections.  One young customer of ours reported that she used our Lavendoola lavender salve at the first sign of a yeast infection and it was gone within a day.

Treatment of Acne.  Lavender has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which can fight the bacteria causing acne infections, helping to reduce swelling and redness.

Treatment of Eczema. Lavender relieves itching, adds moisture, thus speeding up the healing process. Regular usage of lavender lessens eczema outbreaks significantly.

Treatment of Wrinkles.  Lavender contains relaxation properties, relieves tension, stress and inflammation, all of which are responsible for causing skin aging. It also boosts the circulatory system, thus increasing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to skin cells. This results in lowering the signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.

As you can see, Lavendoola's Lavender Goat Milk soap is a must in any house. All those benefits every time you take a bath or just wash your hands.  Simply Amazing. Try some today at www.Lavendoola.com.

All Natural Handmade
Lavender Soap

When I was young, my mother told me not to stay in the bath too long, because the soap wasn't good for my skin.  I never understood why we would have soap that was bad for us.  Now that I am older, I know exactly what she was talking about.

Commercially made soaps, no matter what they claim on the label, are hard on your skin.  They are developed and processed in a way that makes them last long by the application of chemicals that are indeed harmful to your skin.  Even when they say their soap contains a 'moisturizing formula', the amount of true moisturizer is very little.

All natural handmade soaps are just as they say.  They are made from all natural, skin loving ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and shea butter.  These ingredients are not only easy to read on the labels, but are good for your skin, keeping you soft and supple instead of dried out and painful.  Even the colorant used in these soaps are from all natural minerals found in the earth.

One customer of ours tried our handmade soap for the first time, and commented, "I think you have your formula wrong.  I don't feel dry and brittle when I use your soap.  Maybe you need to add more lye."  When we explained that our soap was formulated correctly, with extra moisturizing, skin loving, healthy ingredients, he was shocked, "Wow.  I love this soap.  I love having soft skin when I get out of the shower."

My mother was right.  Commercially made soap is not good for your skin, but Lavendoola's Lavender Soap in handmade, rich lather, ultra moisturizing goodness.  I say, stay in that bath a little longer and soak in that all natural goodness of Lavnedoola's all natural, handmade lavender soap.

Lavendoola's Lavender Soap comes in three designs; Pure lavender (made from all natural colors), solid lavender, or lavender swirl.  Find all three at www.Lavendoola.com

Lavender Dream Pillows

For years lavender has been credited as a drug-free alternative sleep aid.  With today's hectic life style, always on the move, over worked, over scheduled, and over loaded it's no wonder we as a society have a hard time getting the rest we need.  Doctors, according to the National Sleep Foundation, recommend:

Infants                  0-1yrs      14 - 15 hours of sleep daily
Toddler                1-3yrs       12 - 14 hours of sleep daily
Pre-schoolers       3-5yrs       11 - 13 hours of sleep daily
School age           5-10yrs     10 - 11 hours of sleep daily
Teens                   10-17yrs    8.5 - 9.5 hours of sleep daily
Adults                  17 & up     7 - 9 hours of sleep daily

Yet this recommendation seems impossible with our minds running a mile a minute, muscle cramps at night, growing pains, anxiety and stresses of the day.  How are we supposed to get to sleep, not to mention restful sleep?

The scent of lavender has been proven in study after study as having many relaxing and calming properties, which is why it is used as a natural ‘relaxant’ when people are nervous or ‘over-active’. In fact, doctors usually recommend using lavender (before sleeping pills) for cases of insomnia.  A test on just under 50 people proved that lavender helped the sleeping patterns of people with insomnia.

However, lavender is probably most beneficial for people who suffer with anxiety, depression, emotional stress or a combination of all of these. In a Japanese study, researchers found that a chemical called linalyl (found in lavender) relaxes muscles.  This fact is especially important to those who have muscle cramps at night, and youth with growing pains.

Various tests have been carried out on lavender to prove that it helps people fall asleep fast and stay asleep. This is helpful for parents of young children, who habitually wake up throughout the night.

A customer of our reported that her teenage son was having problems sleeping, stressed over finals and sports demands.  Concerned, our customer bought a dream pillow for him.  He didn't want anything to do with 'herbal' stuff and refused to use it.  One late night she checked on her son and found him still awake.  She placed our Lavendoola Dream Pillow next to him without him knowing, kissed him good night and left.  The next morning she asked him how he slept.  He responded with,  "Best sleep I've had in months!"  She told him about the dream pillow, and he began using it every night there after, until one morning, he came into the kitchen, late for school, and said, "I've got to stop sleeping with that lavender pillow you got me.  I slept right through my alarm."

Whether it is a teenager stressed over school, a toddler with a pattern of waking up, or a spouse with night leg cramps and work stresses, Lavendoola has a pillow that's right for you.  www.Lavendoola.com
